Laboratory engineer

Job responsibilities. Supervises or conducts laboratory analyses, tests and other types of research of raw materials, semi-finished products, materials, structures and finished products to determine compliance with applicable specifications and standards. Performs experimental and research work to find more economical and efficient methods of production, as well as laboratory control of production. Carries out the necessary calculations for the analysis, testing and research, analyzes the results and systematizes them. He takes part in the development of technological processes and their research during the development period, in the development and implementation of standards and specifications for raw materials, semi-finished products, materials used in production, as well as in the establishment of progressive norms for their consumption. Based on the study of advanced domestic and foreign experience in laboratory research at the enterprise, he develops new and improves existing methods for conducting laboratory analyses, tests and research, and assists in their development. Investigates the causes of marriage in production and takes part in the development of proposals for its prevention and elimination. Develops measures for the integrated use of raw materials, for the replacement of scarce materials and seeks ways to dispose of production waste. Monitors the correct operation of laboratory equipment and its timely submission for periodic state verification.

Qualification requirements.
Category I laboratory engineer: higher professional (technical) education and work experience as a category II laboratory engineer for at least 3 years.
Category II laboratory engineer: higher professional (technical) education and work experience as a laboratory engineer for at least 3 years.
Laboratory engineer: higher professional (technical) education without requirements for work experience or secondary professional (technical) education and at least 3 years of work experience as a laboratory technician of category I or other positions occupied by specialists with secondary professional (technical) education , not less than 5 years.

I. General provisions

1. Laboratory engineer belongs to the category of specialists.

2. For the position:

A laboratory engineer is appointed a person who has a higher professional (technical) education without presenting requirements for work experience or secondary vocational (technical) education and at least 3 years of work experience as a laboratory technician of category I or other positions occupied by specialists with secondary professional ( technical education), at least 5 years;

Category II laboratory engineer - a person with a higher professional (technical) education and work experience as a laboratory engineer for at least 3 years;

Category I laboratory engineer - a person with a higher professional (technical) education and work experience as a category II laboratory engineer for at least 3 years.

3. Appointment to the position of a laboratory engineer and dismissal from it is carried out by order of the director of the enterprise.

4. Laboratory engineer must know:

4.1. Production technology.

4.2. Laboratory equipment and rules for its operation.

4.3. Technical requirements for raw materials, materials and finished products.

4.4. Standards, regulations, instructions and other guidelines for the technological preparation of production, laboratory control and execution of technical documentation.

4.5. Methods for conducting scientific research and organizing laboratory control of production.

4.6. Modern means of computer technology, communications and communications.

4.7. Experience of advanced domestic and foreign enterprises in the field of technology for the production of similar products.

4.8. Fundamentals of labor legislation.

5. Laboratory engineer reports directly to (the head; head of the laboratory (s).)

6. During the absence of a laboratory engineer (illness, vacation, business trip, etc.), his duties are performed by a person appointed in the prescribed manner. This person acquires the appropriate rights and is responsible for the proper performance of the duties assigned to him.

III. Rights

The laboratory engineer has the right:

1. Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise relating to its activities.

2. Submit proposals for the management to improve the work related to the duties provided for in this job description.

3. Report to the immediate supervisor about all the shortcomings in the production activities of the enterprise (its structural divisions) identified in the course of the performance of their duties and make proposals for their elimination.

4. Request personally or on behalf of the immediate supervisor from the heads of departments of the enterprise and specialists information and documents necessary for the performance of his duties.

5. To involve specialists from all (individual) structural divisions in solving the tasks assigned to him (if this is provided for by the regulations on structural divisions, if not, then with the permission of the management).

6. Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of his duties and rights.

IV. Responsibility

The laboratory engineer is responsible for:

1. For improper performance or non-performance of their official duties provided for by this job description - to the extent determined by the current labor legislation of the Russian Federation.

2. For offenses committed in the course of carrying out their activities - within the limits determined by the current administrative, criminal and civil legislation of the Russian Federation.
